Severin Safari Camp is located in the Kitani area at Tsavo West National Park and was built ten years ago in only 100 days. In 2009 it was extended by the KENBALI Spa and the BARAZA conference tent, this year the new KENBALI fitness tent was added.

The eco-friendly camp is known for a unique combination of adventure, wellness and relaxation for the demanding traveller who searches for romance and unique experiences amidst the wilderness. The camp offers 27 luxurious accommodation facilities which sprawl over 25 hectare of bush land.
On 18th and 19th November the 10th Anniversary of Severin Safari Camp was celebrated with 50 invited guests from Kenya and Germany. The German Ambassador in Kenya, Margit Hellwig-Bötte, as well as the director of the Kenya Wildlife Service, Julius Kipng'etich, took part in the celebrations as honoured guests.

After their arrival at Severin Safari Camp the guests were invited for a „Back of the house tour". Luxury amidst the wilderness - this is possible. The camp meets the requirements for ecological tourism, so that the sensible ecosystem in the park is maintained. Special attention was paid to the architecture as well as the infrastructure. A biological waste water treatment plant, waste separation as well as eco-friendly solar technology with heat exchangers at the current generator for warm water procurement is available.

At the later afternoon Severin Schulte, managing director of Severin Touristik, invited the guests to the BARAZA tent. Jürgen Pietz and Manja Seifert, camp managers of Severin Safari Camp, thanked their team for their special commitment and honoured the long-term employees.
James Willson read a lecture about the events in the Tsavo region during the First World War. Only few people know that East Africa became a bloody battlefield for the Germans and the British during this time. The fights were mainly concentrated on the Taveta region in today's Tsavo West National Park. For over 30 years James Willson has been interested in these events and has also written a book about it.

Severin Schulte welcomed his guests at the KENBALI Spa and handed over to Mrs. Margit Hellwig-Bötte. Since 2009 she has been the successor of Walter Lindner and the Ambassador in Kenya and is also accredited for Burundi, the Seychelles and Somalia. She wishes for more German investors like Severin Schulte in Kenya. The investments will pay in the long-term and create new jobs in the country.

A special highlight was waiting for the guests: A private concert with Fernando Araujo and Patrick Bourgeix on the gallery of KENBALI.
Fernando Araujo was born in Sao Paulo and is a famous baritone who has already sung the vocal parts of Mozart, Puccini, Rossini and Jacobsen on numerous international stages. Patrick Bourgeix is from France and he is an enthusiastic piano player. The audience listened to the music from Mozart and songs from Lion King. The African savannah with its wild animals was a unique scenery for the concert.

At the Out of Africa Restaurant a culinary gala menu that was specially composed by camp manager Jürgen Pietz was waiting for the guests. The 4 course dinner was accompanied by further musical performances of the duo. The massais from the camp were so fascinated by the festive atmosphere that they spontaneously showed a Massai dance together with Fernando Araujo. The anniversary celebration was a special event that will be remembered for a long time.
