Sundern, April 2011 - Severin Sea Lodge has been awarded as the most compliant hotel in Kenya by NEMA (National Environment Management Authority). The authority is established under the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (EMCA) No. 8 of 1999, as the principal instrument of government in Kenya in the implementation of all policies relating to the environment.

Severin Sea Lodge complies with the principles of ecological tourism and has embarked on a multiple awarded active environment protection program. The hotel was the first to set up a biological waste water treatment plant and implemented solar energy in its infrastructure.

The hotel has been certified with very wellknown awards - among other the TUI Environmental Champion Award and the Travelife Gold Award. Severin Sea Lodge also supports the orphanage Mji Wa Salama to improve the future perspectives of children in Mombasa.
