Spurned on by the adventurous stories of his Belgian hunting friends, Rudolf Schulte senior first treads on Kenyan soil with his familiy at the end of the sixties. Fascinated by freedom and adventure, he aquires a piece of land directly on the shore of the Indian Ocean near Mombasa at the beginning of the seventies. Here he erects a small hotel, Severin Sea Lodge, for himself and his friends - the foundation stone for our acitvities in the tourist branch is laid. Today his son, Severin Schulte, runs the business.
But things don't just stay put with the activities in Kenya. At the end of the eighties Severin Schulte founds a travel agency in Sundern, in the Hochsauerland, the present day location of the head office of the firm Severin_touristik. Over the years further projects concerning the topic of tourism come into being - ranging from a four-star city hotel to a safari camp in the Tsavo National Park. The Sunderland Hotel in Sundern is not only home to our TUI Travel Agency but also to our tour operator »my africa«.
