Day 1: Mombasa – Severin Safari Camp
In the morning you are picked up at the entrance to your hotel. You drive straight to Moi International Airport-Mombasa and check-in at the domestic flights counter. You depart for Tsavo West National Park and land at the Finch Hattons airstrip. Then you undertake the first game drive before you reach Severin Safari Camp in the afternoon. At the camp you enjoy an exclusive dinner before you retire for the night in one of our luxurious tents.
Day 2-4:
During the following safari days you experience the absolute beauty of the Kenyan wilderness. You undertake exciting game drives, guided-walks through the bush and visit the hippo sanctuary. A walk through Shetani, the volcano and lava landscape is on the itinery. As the highlight you experience a sundowner at Poacher's Lookout with a view of the Kilimanjaro. Apart from this enjoy a picnic lunch on the Roaring Rocks with a breath-taking view of the Ngulia Mountains. In the evenings one of the Masai or the Askari will tell you about the flora and fauna of the Tsavo National Park.
Day 5:
This day begins with an early morning game drive and you return for a hearty breakfast back at camp. In the afternoon you leave Tsavo West and fly back to Mombasa. Sometime in the evening you return to your hotel with many new and certainly unforgettable impressions.
The Severin Safari Camp:
Your starting point for these unique excursions is the Severin Safari Camp. Hospitality of the highest standard awaits you here in the middle of the wilderness. All the luxury tents and the bandas are equipped with hot and cold running water as well as a shower and your own private patio.
In the middle of the famous Kitani Wildlife Reserve the daily visitors include the hippos from the nearby River Tsavo, wildlife from the steppe and lions which appear at the waterhole in front of you.
Switch off and reflect upon life. Enjoy the complete peace on your private patio, dream awhile whist having a massage, browse around in the small library or let yourself be introduced to the skill of archery by our experienced Askaris. Fortify yourself in the mornings with a splendid breakfast with fresh ham and eggs. At lunchtime a salad, tasty Italian pasta or a lunch box in the bush and in the evenings enjoy the game prepared on a hot stone by the chef. Or a several course gourmet dinner with a glass of red wine by candlelight. Round the campfire the camp manager will disclose the secrets of Africa and with an ice-cold gin and tonic you remember Ernest Hemingway's »Snow on Kilimanjaro«. Later when the last embers have burnt down and the endless silence spreads itself over the bush you can pluck the stars from the clear night sky…
