Experience the authentic Mombasa during our Arabian Night and enjoy a traditional Swahili dinner
You are picked up by our driver at the reception of your hotel. You will be informed of the pickup time from your hotel at the time of booking. Our Arabian Night starts at 05:00 pm and our first location is the impressive Fort Jesus. The 400 year old fortress Fort Jesus was built by the Portuguese in 1593 to guard the old port of Mombasa. See the stunning 16th century military architecture of the fort that was won and lost nine times by nations contesting control of the strategic island of Mombasa and the gateway to the "dark continent". Afterwards you walk through the narrow streets of the historic old town down to the Old Dhow Harbour (Old Port). Here, you go on board on one of our traditional Arabian dhows named Husna, Takdir and Biladi.
Enjoy traditional Swahili music as you cruise through Mombasa's historic waterfront. From here, you have a wonderful view of the old town and the Tudor Creek. You sail further to the Jahazi Marine Jetty, disembark and walk up to our Jahazi restaurant. Enjoy the authentic Swahili dishes complete with Sheesha from the buffet. Traditional belly dancers are the special highlight of the evening.
The excursion ends around 09:30 pm and our driver will return you to the hotel.
